Meet Heather Buck of Flynn’s Irish Pub

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Buck.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Well, I started in the restaurant business 25 years ago. My first adventure was a breakfast place in Littleton, CO (you had to be 21 to serve in any place that offered alcohol) since then I have worked in New York, Florida, Rhode Island and now Massachusetts. I was employed with TGI Friday’s for over sixteen years which gave me plenty of time to develop my Tom Cruise bottle flipping skills!

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road. I was however fortunate enough to have some amazing teachers along the way. Understanding it is imperative to take a step back and realize the lessons you learn today are the ones you teach tomorrow.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Flynn’s Irish Pub – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Flynn’s Irish Pub is first and foremost a family pub. This includes our guests and our employees. I have been given the incredible opportunity to be the general manager of the Mansfield location since we opened four years ago. We specialize in comfort food and craft beer.

One of our features is gourmet burgers such as the Donegal, a burger with peanut butter, strawberry jam, cheddar cheese and house-cured bacon served on a pretzel bun. We offer an impressive draft selection as well showcasing local breweries such as 6A Brewing, Bog Iron and Skyroc.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I have always loved everything about the city (having traveled here from a very young age)! Fenway Park, museums and of course the food. Walking the commons and being in awe of all the city has to offer at every turn.
