Meet Gilda Miranda of Styled by Gilda

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gilda Miranda.

Gilda, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After College, I began managing restaurants. I started off small in the Back Bay and Beacon Hill area and then moved to managing a very popular hotel restaurant and lounge, but I could never shake my true passion for Fashion! I always enjoyed getting dressed up – whether it was for work or for a social event! Looking good made me feel good so I made up my mind that I wanted to help others realize this and work on their appearance. I began freelancing at a styling company here in Boston and a couple of years later, started my very own Personal Styling company – STYLED BY GILDA. I now help real men and women develop their true personal style – one that aligns with their personality and builds confidence!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but it will all be worth it in the end! It took a lot of time and networking in order to develop a client base and to create true connections.

This took working 7 days a week in order to pay the bills and also run a smooth business. I did it on my own with a full-time job – no staff. Not even an intern! I built a website, a social media following and a solid client base (as well as new ones). It takes hard work and determination to build momentum in this industry.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Styled by Gilda – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I work as a personal stylist for both men and women, of all ages, in the New England area.

The first thing you see on my website is my tagline: Effortless style takes a little effort – and it’s true! My goal is always to put my clients at ease and have them understand that there’s no judgement as we process where they’re at style-wise. As a stylist, I will assess you as an individual, taking into account your body type, budget, and how you like to spend your time. I believe fashion should support you, be an enjoyable creative outlet that makes you feel confident, and the process of shopping for a wardrobe you love shouldn’t be a rule-filled pain, but a fun and easy endeavor with positive results.

It’s easy to learn all of the rules of what looks good on body shape A, B, or C, but it’s not easy to really “STYLE” someone. Fashion IS my forte! Aside from knowing all of the simple style rules, I keep up with the pulse of fashion and what’s current so my clients not only look presentable, but also fashion forward – like they know what’s up!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m looking to build a small team, create more social media content and grow my company! I’m also hoping to add more editorial/commercial work to my resume as well.
