Meet Freddy Gonzalez of Freddylive Fitness in Woburn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Freddy Gonzalez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Freddy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My fitness journey began 10 years ago when I was in a dark place. I had a rough childhood and I was dealing with my feelings in the wrong way for a number of years. My life changed when I became a father, and took full custody of my son. That’s when my fitness journey really took off! I started doing pull-ups and push-ups to deal with my feelings and it became a passion. I had no idea where this was going to lead, but I loved it. I made a choice to turn my passion into a career. I started at local gyms doing odd jobs until I was running my own bootcamps. So people would come up to me telling me I was an inspiration! I was certified in strength and conditioning while I was running the bootcamps, but I wanted to hone my craft. Then became a student of American Academy of personal training Boston in Copley Square. With this amazing education in my hands I started my own business which is flourishing! I love helping people create better versions of themselves! I’m blessed to do what I do.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has most definitely not been a smooth road. Business can be overwhelming at times. Starting a business is not easy and I have definitely have had my share of learning curves.

Freddylive Fitness – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a certified personal trainer that specializes in one on one training, small group training, and bootcamps. What sets me apart from other gyms is that my gym is a smaller more intimate setting where I’m able to focus my attention on my individual client’s needs, helping them create better versions of themselves. We are like family! My business is also heavily active in my community. Each year we put together several events to raise awareness for different causes such as autism, substance-abuse, suicide prevention etc.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To success is when a client comes to me and tells me their quality of life has improved ever since they started coming to Freddylive Fitness.
