Today we’d like to introduce you to Bob Fortin, Dan, and Jason Cordeiro.
The concept of FlowerStay was born in the Summer of 2016 when Robert Fortin had the honor of being the best man in a friend’s wedding. While doing the final rehearsals of his speech, he was tasked with the ultimate challenge of correctly attaching a boutonniere to his tuxedo. After repeated failed attempts, Bob requested the help of another groomsman. Four hands and two beers later they had his boutonniere attached, albeit, hanging by a thread.
Inevitably, boutonniere adjustments were made after every hug and sudden movement. It was at this point in time when he realized there had to be a better way. The following day, he solicited the help of friends Jason and Daniel Cordeiro. Together they fleshed out the idea, started development, prototypes, trademarks, patents, manufacturing and marketing. After 16 months of hard work, FlowerStay was officially launched in November of 2017.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We think anytime you develop and launch a new product you are apt to encounter challenges along the way. We have learned that it is a very long road between a concept and a product. We have had many long nights and short weekends trying to get our product off the ground and into the marketplace. That said, we are an excellent team and have taken these challenges in stride and learned a lot along the way.
FlowerStay – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our slogan best defines our company; “Don’t Fear the Boutonniere”. FlowerStay was designed to remove the struggle of attaching a boutonniere. We aim to save time, remove stress and improve photos at all formal events. FlowerStay is the simplest and most secure method of attaching a boutonniere.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
We personally define success based on dedication and effort. Whatever you are doing and however the outcome, you will always learn something or gain something from the experience if you give it your all and try your hardest. If you don’t regret the effort you put in, you will always be successful.
