Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Kenney.
Erin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My passion for nutrition and wellness stems from growing up watching my father succumb to an increasingly debilitating mental illness. Over the years, I watched it slowly take over his life until he passed away unexpectedly four years ago.
At that time in my life, I was in school studying nutrition but was more focused on the physical health benefits. My father’s passing propelled me to pursue nutrition from a different perspective. I immersed myself into research on the gut microbiome and the link between what we put into our bodies and the way we think, feel, and perform. I started connecting the dots between my own health issues growing up and the food I was putting in my body. I became obsessed with the way I felt when I started fueling my body properly.
I pursued a Master’s degree in nutrition, got involved in research, and started teaching a nutrition class to adults with mental illness. When I finished my required dietetic internship through Simmons University, I had all the tools I needed to go wherever I wanted, and I knew I would be steering away from the traditional path. I had been coaching clients, friends, and family for longer than I could remember, I was ready to launch.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If it were, I wouldn’t have learned a thing. With a Master’s degree in nutrition, I now realize I should have minored in business. I’ve made plenty of mistakes that have turned out to be great motivators. I wear many hats and at times it can be challenging to balance my personal life and business, especially because some days it doesn’t feel like work. I’m learning to embrace the challenges as I know they are all intrinsic to creating a successful business.
I built this business from the ground up but I didn’t do it on my own. My mom has always been a huge inspiration to me. As a female entrepreneur, she paved the path for me to create a meaningful career rooted in a solid education. She is my cheerleader and supporter through it all.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My company allows people to live better lives; and I feel fortunate to have been given the opportunity to spread my knowledge and connect with others in a deeply personal way.
Each session begins with identification of the individual’s purpose. It’s important to understand what truly matters in their life and how I can support them in achieving their goals. My coaching is highly individualized based on their genetics, lifestyle, and preferences. The result is a lifestyle change, not a temporary diet.
