Meet Emma Roberts of Capers Catering

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emma Roberts.

Emma, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
This year, Capers is celebrating our 25th Anniversary. Growing up in Providence, RI, I spent every Saturday shopping for an ingredient with my Father. We would walk on Federal Hill picking up pasta at one shop, cheese at another, and local chicken at another. We would then drive to a specialty produce store to select the freshest fruits and vegetable. Each ingredient was hand selected and appreciated. Heading home, we would decide what we would be cooking together that day, and how best to use our selections.

Today, our Capers team uses the same approach to create our seasonal farm to table menus. We enjoy getting to know each of our clients and their goals for their special events. And, we customize our menus to create unique moments in time.

Has it been a smooth road?
When I started Capers Catering, I specifically did not name it after myself. I imagined a larger company, where like-minded chefs and event planners could come together to create a meaningful business, focused on our clients, the environment, and our place in the New England business community.

For the most part, we have enjoyed smooth waters, and have stayed very true to our original mission and goals. By staying true to who we are, we have been able to weather economic storms that have at times cropped up, like the recession of 2008.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Capers Catering – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Capers Catering is celebrating our 25th Anniversary. We are a boutique catering company, specializing in hand-created farm to fork gourmet menus. Each of our clients is important to us, and we enjoy tailoring our products to best suit their individual ideas.

We are the best known for our gorgeous bite-sized house-made hors-d’oeuvres and desserts. All of our food is seasonal and beautiful to the eye and taste buds.

Capers prides itself on our customer service from the moment client inquiries through to the finish of each event, we are there to be of service and create the most special moment in time. It is our mission to exceed our client’s expectations and execute flawless parties. What sets Capers apart is our attention to each detail that culminates in the creation of beautiful custom events.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the people of Boston and New England. We live in such a rich community with universities, corporate and private partners, hospitals, and innovation. Our community fosters creativity and entrepreneurship. It is the perfect place to create our brand featuring custom boutique catering, and we appreciate our partnership with all of our clients.

Boston has grown very quickly, adding wonderful new areas, such as the Seaport area. Now we need to focus on our infrastructure, roads and public transportation to keep traffic and our businesses rolling.
