Meet Elizabeth Quill of Elegant Aura in South

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Quill.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Elegant Aura began as the natural union of founder, my sister, Alison’s two greatest passions, wedding planning and physical fitness. She understands that the perfect wedding universally begins with the desire to look and feel our best. That everyone has an “elegant aura” about them. It’s her fundamental belief that the individual comes first. Her commitment, creative thinking, and attention to detail gave her an exceptional advantage for orchestrating unforgettable events.

After I joined Alison Elegant Aura’s mission and core value grew to include an understanding of each couples’ wedding dreams as only a sister could, but execute them as only a wedding professional can. Our inspiration is drawn from the bonds of sisterhood but also the appreciation of how unique and strongly individual even the closest of siblings can be. My background in interior design helped expand my creative skills, and while working in restaurant management has humbled me, it also allowed me to utilize my innate sense of hospitality. Those experiences combined made the transition to wedding planning a natural progression.

In 2015, Alison decided to move onto new ventures, but my passion for weddings hasn’t waned, and Elegant Aura continues to grow. I’m still dedicated to creating your perfect wedding. As Elegant Aura transitions into its 9th year of operation, we have more contacts and more experiences in order to create your unique and personalized wedding.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Yes, in general, it’s been a smooth road. Like any industry, we can be affected by the economy. But we’ve been fortunate to survive during any downturns.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Elegant Aura is a full service design and planning studio, producing events and weddings throughout New England. We have a personal and genuine approach to planning, design and collaboration. This relationship with our clients extends beyond their wedding day, to personally and professionally be a part of their life milestones.

What makes us unique is my background in interior design and high-end restaurant management. With interior design, I was creating a warm and welcoming home or office space. Every night at a restaurant is different, and so are the guests. Our job is to be sure we understand their expectations, and to create warm, welcoming and celebratory evenings. Just as you would for a wedding client.

Our approach enables us to provide high-touch planning experiences. With my background, my innate sense of hospitality allows me to sense a client’s need intuitively. Every guest, every couple should feel like they are the only ones in the room, or the only client you have. Our calm demeanor and approach makes them feel that way. Colleagues have told us that they see a close, personal connection between our clients and us that they’ve not seen before. Clients have said, “it’s like having a best friend behind the scenes”.

I’m proud to say that a portion of our sales are contributed to the MSPCA Boston Animal Care and Adoption Center.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was pretty shy, but spoke up when I needed to. I grew up on the ocean and couldn’t imagine living any further than a couple of miles from the beach. I have a love of all animals, especially misfits. I was obsessed with seeing how other people’s houses and restaurants were decorated, which is definitely how I ended up with a degree in arts. I had lots of scrapbooks, yesterday’s version of Pinterest!
