Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Palladino.
Chris, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Growing up I had a lot going on around me. People telling me to get my grades up so I can get into a good college, get into a field that pays well regardless of I liked it or not, and then I saw my Dad hustling around every day. My Dad was a realtor, and I was fixated on being the next IT superstar. Well, times changed but my work mindset didn’t. I still wanted to help people, just in a more meaningful way other than getting their computer to turn back on. So I took it upon myself to ask my Dad a million and one questions every time he would do something real estate related.
At the time he probably thought I was nuts because I was a 16-year-old kid asking questions about Purchase and Sales agreements and listing presentations. Since then I always had an interest in real estate, so I took my sales person’s test, and here I am. I started working with my Dad at a very large and well-known brokerage that dealt with the suburbs of Boston and slowly transitioned into beautiful Back Bay. The downtown Boston market is absolutely stunning and the market is extremely competitive. Right up my alley. I then moved my talents to Atlas Properties on Newbury Street and I’ve never looked back.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Oh absolutely not. And anyone who says getting into real estate is a cake walk is flat out lying to you. After taking my real estate course, I thought it would be a brilliant idea to wait a few months until taking the exam. Big mistake. I went to take my exam and I failed. I was heart-broken because I thought I crushed it. So I hit the books again and even sat in on a refresher course. I failed 2 more times. Until finally passing on my third try. I knew my stuff, I was and have always been a crappy test taker. But I didn’t give up and kept my head up and would schedule a new exam for a week out every time I would walk out of the testing center.
As for being in the field, there were also struggles. When you pass your exam and become licensed, no one really tells you where to go from there. It’s kind of like “Ok now go start selling stuff”. That’s not how it is at all. It’s super important to hang your hat at a brokerage where they have ongoing self-development and teaching. I would suggest new agents sign with a smaller brokerage so you can have more face to face time with experienced brokers. I knew it was going to be a long road until I fully learned the trade and can honestly say I still learn new things every day. I had to bite the bullet, miss out on some money just so I can learn the craft inside and out.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Real Estate Agent @ Atlas Properties story. Tell us more about the business.
What sets us apart from others is our dedication to our clients and knowledge in our marketplace. There isn’t a condo getting put on the market, or a new development getting announced that we do not know about. We are on top of the current trends, just like a good brokerage should be. We are people first and I like to think we’re all fun, personable people, and at the end of the day, people want to do business with someone they like.
Our goal at Atlas Properties is to get the highest possible price for your property with the best possible terms. We provide every seller with the most current pricing through our computer network which includes up to date sales information, anticipated market direction and personal appraisal through Free Market Analysis. For exclusive sales, we immediately co-broke the property throughout the city with the assistance of our extensive list of close real estate contacts.
We are dedicated to finding the perfect home for you. Take advantage of our powerful home-buying tools, such as LINK and SEARCH MLS, which will send you up-to-the-minute information on properties that match your criteria. Help us to understand exactly what you are searching for using our Dream Home Finder. As a client of Boston’s most informed real estate firm, you will be privy to many properties before they become available to the general public. Let us put our energy, knowledge, and professionalism to work for you.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
You create your own luck and I believe that 100%. If anything, I’d say that bad luck in my life has propelled me to where I am today. Waking up every single day wanting to be better than I was yesterday because who knows what could happen. I’ve set a routine for myself where I can self-develop throughout my day. Whether it’s podcasts, books, or audio books, I’m always doing something.
I’ve spent my whole life being optimistic, and making friends whenever possible. I think that is the reason I’ve been able to do what I’ve done. I honestly couldn’t tell you a person who genuinely dislikes me, and I like that about myself and my business because it shows that I’m people first, and my clients appreciate that as well… Well, I hope….. 😉
