Meet Ashley Nardello of Cleopatra Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Nardello.

Ashley, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My story isn’t like most photographers. I didn’t have a camera in my hands from the time I was “five” years old. I don’t have a piece of paper that says I’m a photographer or a degree, and I grew up with all the odds stacked against me.

I have always been an artsy person, but my original muse was my newborn daughter….. It’s been 9 years and counting. I have learned everything I know from working hands-on and in the field. I took off running and never looked back.

I never stopped learning.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Smooth? No, but not rocky either….more like an adventure. Self-doubt and fear of failure were and still are some of the biggest obstacles any artist faces including myself. Staying true to my style and not worrying about what other photographers were doing was key. Once I learned to value myself my whole world changed. My client experience is leaps and bounds above what it was even a year ago.

Please tell us about Cleopatra Photography.
Cleopatra photography is the most unique boutique photography studio located in central Ma. We have a full warehouse at our disposal. The light-filled expansive areas and high ceilings are just a small part of the gorgeous architecture that surrounds and fills the building. The variety is impressive. I specialize in lifestyle newborns, couples, and families. I also offer mentorships nationwide as Tiny tribe of Five.

I’m known for my natural light relaxed approach….. light and airy candid unposed imagery, that gives you all the feels.

I’m most proud of how loyal my clients are to me. I have worked so hard to build this dream as a one-woman show. There are so many families that have been with me since day one and spread the word about me from the rooftops. They are invaluable, and I consider them my friends..

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have gotten a mentor. Someone who could give me direct advice and just to chat with who understood how hard being an entrepreneur is.

One of The most valuable pieces of advice I have ever received was don’t make mistakes someone else has made before you. So I continue to educate myself, I practice and hone this craft so I can be the best photographer possible for my clients. The new and the old.
