Meet Andronic A. Jameau of Lawndromat Professional Services in Dorchester

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andronic A. Jameau.

Andronic, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It all started the winter of 2013 when we had back to back snow storms. I helped a friend shovel a couple houses that needed help in our neighborhood. It continued to snow and I had an Ah-ha moment. That morning I started researching prices of snow blowers and learned that every Home-good store was sold out. They even told me to get lucky you had to be at the store as they received the snow blowers off of the truck. Everyone in Boston was looking for snow blowers. The wait would be at least a week at most stores. I had a friend that knew I was researching and he decided to help out with my search. He ended up finding a small store in Framingham called Irrigation Pipe Lighting which had 3 snow blowers left. I hitched a ride from a friend that had a truck and got to the store as quick as possible. When we arrived there were only two left. Very nice Ariens models. I purchased one and got it back home. I took it off of the truck and started to snow blow my own sidewalk and as the neighbors watched my new machine rip through the snow they came over to ask if I could help them with theirs. This was my first day in business. I posted a few clever ads on my Facebook timeline and family members and friends asked if I could remove snow for them. This continued and in between storms I was still working as a valet supervisor for Ultimate Parking. One night while at work I was trying to think of a company name and an idea came to me. Lawndromat. I thought by spring I could use the mower in my basement to help the same snow clients. And mow their Lawns. I researched the name and website and found no one owned it. At that moment I registered the website. The next move was registering the company, and I formed Lawndromat Professional Services. The rest is history. Here I am 3yrs later lots of great reviews and helping keep lawns clean since 2013.

Has it been a smooth road?
The year everything got started was smooth. It kept snowing almost every day. It earned me a lot of clients which continued to use our services throughout the spring, summer, and fall. The next year was a drought and nothing grew. It showed me the rough side of landscaping. Taught me that without rain there’s no sunshine. A valuable lesson of life’s peaks and valleys. Through the ups and downs, determination and willpower kept things going, along with the help and support from my beautiful mom. Since that time everything has gone back to normal and Lawndromat lives on. We have earned awards through and many positive reviews.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Lawndromat Professional Services, LLC story. Tell us more about the business.
Lawndromat is mostly known for turning residential yards that haven’t been kept up with for some time, into a yard fit for a family outing. We maintain and treat troubled lawns. We do a lot of spring/fall cleanups. We also keep hedges and plants trimmed neatly. We top dress with mulches of different colors depending on customers’ request. We take pride in our work and pay attention to detail. We put our customer service and satisfaction first and this is what sets us apart from others. We hear a lot of complaints from customers about past businesses who use to take care of them but now they can’t reach them. They tend to like the fact of how easy the Lawndromat experience is. They get a free estimate and once work is scheduled they don’t need to be home for the work to be completed. An invoice is emailed with an attached link to make a secure payment by credit card if desired.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see the company growing considerably in the next 5-10 years. We will eventually start to offer more services such as stone walls, tree services, irrigation, etc. We will innovate a team of landscape professionals that will help keep our city’s landscapes beautiful.
