Meet Alex Guzman of A Custom Party in Braintree

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Guzman.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve been a graphic designer and web developer for the past 20 years, I’d say A Custom Party started with me as a freelancer working projects for different customers and then realizing I could take this idea of customized props for party into a web environment instead of having people trying to describe what they wanted.

After realizing I could put together a web interface to facilitate this type of interaction with customers it was just a matter of time before I could have enough designs to take them online and then develop the functionality to make it easy for users to add their info and see it in real time.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a company is no easy challenge. Before A Custom Party I tried with a graphic t-shirt concept and before that with an online magazine concept as well.

Most of the challenge comes with getting out there and get your product in the hands of consumers.

I enjoy working behind a computer and pour out everything in my mind into graphics and code, but after that’s done the networking and marketing part becomes the next step and for an introvert person like myself it becomes a challenge.

Coming up with an interface people felt comfortable using was another challenge, there are hundreds of customization tools out there, the challenge to create a simple but effective application for people to put their feelings into an invitation card took a long time.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about A Custom Party – what should we know?
We print all sorts of custom stickers, labels, boxes and candy wrappers to help consumers promote their business, throw awesome parties, personalize wedding, baby shower, bachelor or bachelorette parties and much more.

We take pride on what we do, and that is bringing costumers options to celebrate events with the touch that will make them unique.

We have thousands of designs for our customers to personalize, we are constantly creating new designs on the different categories we have. Not only we are constantly creating new designs, consumers can also request something special for their event.

Our main focus is to have happy clients, we know what their event means to them.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Understanding the consumers need. Anybody can create an invitation. But you have to pay attention to the details, personalization, and customer service.
