Flashes & Strokes: a Tale of Two Mediums

The digital and traditional arts are thriving in Boston. From newer, technology based media like photography and digital art to more traditional art, there is so much to see, explore and learn from in Boston.  Through our Flashes and Strokes series, we’d like to celebrate artists from both worlds: traditional and digital.

I love make up so much, especially freeform styles meant to similarly mimic a pattern while not directly copying it 😎😎😎 For the base colors I blended colors from the imagic flash palette, set that with @elfcosmetics finishing powder, then topped that off with @sugarpill's buttercupcake, dollipop, tako, and bulletproof as well as the pure pigments from @nyxcosmetics in blue and hpt pink/red The white dots and stars are from my FAVORITE NYX product which is their mattw white liquid liner 💎💎💎 Interested in getting your makeup done for an event or for pictures slide it in the DMs or email me at Yanyan.artist@gmail.com #mua #muaofinsta #makeup #galaxy #indiemakeup #glamour #makeupart #galaxymakeup #yanyansfleekinmakeupcamp2018 #yanyanart #bflowbabes #bstnflow @bstnflow

To say that I am disappointed would be an understatement. While the experience of shooting an amazing set with the amazingly talented and beautiful @luara_loveless was truly incredible, we were even more ecstatic when we found out that our set was selected to be featured in Kreativ Magazine. That all came to a halt when Kreativ contacted me at quarter past midnight and notified me that they were closing their doors, effective immediately. There would be no May issue. There would be no publication for us. I still feel like we created some truly beautiful images; and we are still actively seeking magazines where we might be able to publish, but it feels pretty crappy, underhanded and deceitful to accept our images and then close down. I don’t know what happened at Kreativ, but at this point I really don’t care. We’re moving on. Looking for the next opportunity to do exciting new things. Thank you, Luara for taking the time to shoot, and showing patience as we continue to look. And thank you @joannklong for taking this bts shot! Your capture was beautiful, and it’s rare that I ever get to be seen in the pics! Thank you!! . . . . #fu_kreativ #abandonedbeauties #model #beauty #rocmodel #rochestermodel #rocphotographer #nikon #D7200 #speedlight #portrait #potd #picoftheday #instagood #igportraits #portraitsmag #portraitpage #pursuitofportraits #modeldiscovery #discoverportrait #artofportrait #moodygrams #photo_collective #discoverportrait #portraitphotography #postmoreportraits #featuremepf
