Flashes & Strokes: a Tale of Two Mediums

The digital and traditional arts are thriving in Boston. From newer, technology based media like photography and digital art to more traditional art, there is so much to see, explore and learn from in Boston.  Through our Flashes and Strokes series, we’d like to celebrate artists from both worlds: traditional and digital.

Are you able to give yourself permission to break away from your to do list when you need it (yes, even your self-care to do list?) This morning, I got up and booted up my laptop to get a workout video ready, before running an errand and starting my workday. Well…I TRIED anyway! My laptop was being so slow that I had to force quit a program or two and restart…and by the time it finished and I had done the rest of my morning routine, I had just enough time to run my errand and come home to do some work before lunch! NOT how I envisioned my morning going, and I really wanted to blow off some steam so I could be more focused and productive during work time. Sometimes I can be a control freak with myself and want my day to go exactly as planned. BUT, lately I’ve been learning that it’s ok to let some things go when the Universe has other plans. I do my best to grant myself forgiveness for trying to control aaalll of life, and then face the rest of my day with gratitude for all the other things I have. And it feels GOOD, I tell you!
