Our team comes across so many incredible local creations everyday – from one of kind furniture and unique dresses to art, photography and a world of handmade goods. In depth, personal stories are at the heart of the BostonVoyager, but we also want to take time to highlight and celebrate individual creations that have the power to inspire. So…@dandelion_house challenged me to name 5 reasons why I love being a flower farmer. I’ll try to be brief: 1. I adore flowers and am continually astounded by the beauty that nature produces. The colors, the textures, the fragrances! 2. Farming keeps me grounded. Whether in the greenhouse or in the gardens working, I feel like I’m practicing my “religion.” 3. I have the privilege of bringing most of what I grow to a bride and groom’s most important day in their lives. It’s an honor to be included in their celebration in that way. 4. Science. I am continually learning each and every season: how to grow something better, get longer stems, increase the vase life etc. Constant learning keeps you humble. I hope I never have all the answers. 5. I have created a life/career where I get to be close to the most important piece of my life, my daughter. Gardens and greenhouse on our property allows me to be here for her daily, to watch her grow as well. I count my lucky stars every day for that. Now I challenge: @bynectar @fiveforkfarms @paintedladyflowerfarm @muddyfeetflowers @robinhollow 📷: @_abbylorenz
